SURVIVE THE HEAT INFOPOST

I must say that I’ve had hot tea in pool parties in the middle of August and it actually made me feel chiller. I mean, tuaregs have their tea hot, in the fucking desert. It’s good shit.

That’s interesting. Might be something to do with the human body’s thermal regulation? Like, it feels hotter, so works harder to keep you cool? Plus you’re keeping hydrated, so I can see how that’d help. I can’t emphasize enough how important it is to keep hydrated in the heat. And if hot tea’s working for you, then yeah, keep doing that.

Desert nomads are on a whole other level. The Tuaregs and the Bedouins are amazing. Of course, they’ve got to keep cool and warm on a day to day basis. Deserts get very cold at night.

The ones that really get me are the persistence hunters in southern Africa (the San I believe) who chase prey at a jog/run literally all damn day until it collapses from exhaustion. It makes me feel very squishy and inadequate.
