- because he screwed up and
- but by the time he works up the courage
- has lost faith in himself
- I can ignore the reboot movie
- I have no choice but to acknowledge this POS
- Illya has slipped away
- it'd also explain why Napoleon's off his game in the movie
- it's more emotionally poignant if he's off his game
- like if you were gonna have an innocent die and Illya leave and never speak to Napoleon again
- Missed Opportunities For Proper Angst the Movie
- Napoleon should have been responsible for it
- other than he's rusty and old like the movie wanted
- tbh this movie pisses me off way more than the reboot movie
