Honestly we weren’t raised this way. Our dad especially was particularly insistent about being courteous to guests, and my mom would never let someone in her home go to bed without making sure they’d eaten. I don’t need them to cater to me, but I would like to know whether I’m on my own for dinner a little sooner than the last fucking minute.
