November is recognized as American Diabetes Month. According
to the Center for Disease Control, more than 30 million Americans suffer from
diabetes.

Diabetes is affected by many factors, but how is it affected
by gestational
hypertension? Researchers Kuller and Catov believe that further
exploration is needed into various risk factors such as stress and
obesity; researchers Pace and Dasgupta agree, and believe that “now is the
time for action.” An essential part of this is “engagement of
mothers, fathers, and clinicians before, during, and after pregnancy.”
