Here, guy. Let me rephrase that for you.

“When my husband is in a bad mood, I’ll take him for pho. It always makes him feel better.”

Wtf. How devoid of compassion do you have to be as a partner to say something like that?

Let me be very clear. This is not him being a Cranky Ass just this once. Oh no. I have been here since last October so 5 months and I have yet to hear him say a single positive thing about his spouse. Not. One.

I know his was a marriage of convenience. I know this because he tells me that whenever we talk about the company insurance plan. I know he’s not too fond of his husband’s dog. I know they’re having serious money troubles. I know his spouse has been depressed because he lost an eye which left him unable to participate in activities he used to love. I know they’re not monogamous.

But I do not for my life know that he even cares about this poor guy. Hell I think I probably care more about his husband than he does. I feel sorry for him. I have to deal with his bullshit at work but he’s got to live with him.
