I don’t want my quinoa. Quinoa is bullshit. Quinoa is lie.
I made it the same way I made my rice (and yes I rinsed) and it still tastes gross. And bland. And mind you, I added salt, garlic, and a buttload of herbs. And I cooked it in chicken broth.
I don’t like it. It’s boring and sad and definitely not the oreo milkshake I am currently craving.
And don’t tell me this shit is more filling than rice. I’ve eaten this stuff nearly every day for the last 2 weeks and I am nearly always starving about an hour later.
Quinoa can burn in hell.
My favorite way to eat Quinoa (which, yes, I agree it can be very bland sometimes)
-Prepare your quinoa as instructed on the box (1:2.25 ratio quinoa to water)
-dice cucumber, shallot (preferred, but onion will do in a pinch just don’t use as much), red/green bell pepper, carrots, cherry tomatoes (those you can cut in half, everything else dice them nice and smol)
-or whatever crunchy veggies you like. I sometimes throw in some edamame if I have it.
-Toss veg into a bowl. Bung the quinoa in there as well when it’s done
-Mix with olive oil and lemon juice and salt and pepper. For an added bonus chop some herbs in there too.
I have come across microwavable quinoa, STAY AWAY FROM THAT SHIT.
But are the other ingredients cooked? I have a strong aversion to uncooked bell pepper and deep hatred of onions that borders on arch enemy status (the feeling is entirely mutual)
My other issues are, it’s more expensive and I’m on a budget and I really need something hot to eat (is it being reheated a problem?) Because my office is freezing.
