yeah i donât know if anyone tried to go to any of my blogs yesterday but tumblr terminated my account. obviously they restored it for me, which i am grateful for, and the team was polite.
do you want to know why i was terminated?
this post. this post wherein a bot added a malicious or suspicious link and OP made a joke back at said bot.
posts like this are really funny and clearly are not meant to spread the malicious link. however, tumblrâs automatic flagging system doesnât seem to know the difference.
so for the safety of your account, please refrain from making or reblogging posts that bots have added links to, even if itâs a joke on said bot, bc youâll probably get terminated on accident.
Headsup since the tumblr bot problem has gotten bad (again).
Every single person who talks about âhaha Egyptian cursesâ as if they were some supernatural beings (or, possibly, aliens) and not just black people who were good at building owes me $10
*ding ding ding* Spooky PoC culture trope for $500 Alex
like seriously can we get some âIâm scared of the Romansâ posts up in here because if ever there were a group of bastards who WOULD put a curse on anything that couldnât be nailed downâŠ
I was once present when a lead curse tablet was excavated and it was some dude cursing whomever had stolen his favourite cloak. Heâd stabbed the lead it many times.
Then there was an addendum that said that he revoked the curse because no one stole it, it was his mother whoâd taken it for washing.Â
and also incredibly practical so WAY less likely to curse you and leave that up to whatever god/karma/crazy random happenstance and far MORE likely to just whack you over the head with a bowl.
I work in a museum featuring the Roman Baths from when the Romans first landed in England in 43 AD and weâve found lead curses where someoneâs stolen their clothes from the apodyterium (changing room) and they hope Sulis Minerva pulls their brains out through their ears.
Romans are dramatic little shits that get upset over the slightest inconvenience.
I looked through the comments, and this one was gold.
Fear the Romans not the Egyptians, kids. FEAR THEM
We must do everything we can to stop the administrationâs harmful family detention rule.
Last month, the Trump-Pence administration unveiled a proposed regulation, called the âfamily detention rule,â that would roll back basic protections for immigrant children that enter the U.S. Under this inhumane policy, the government could detain immigrant children indefinitely in harsh, jail-like conditions â jeopardizing their health and well-being.
We have until Tuesday, November 6, to demand the rule be stopped.
When the government publishes a proposed regulation, the public gets 60 days to comment.
We need your help! Post a comment demanding that the administration stop jailing children indefinitely.
What Would the Administrationâs Proposed Family Detention Rule Do?
The rule would dismantle a decades-old agreement, called the Flores Settlement Agreement, or the Flores settlement. The Flores settlement defined basic protections for children that enter the U.S. and are placed in government custody.
Under the Flores settlement, the government must either release children shortly after theyâre detained or transfer them to safe, licensed shelters that meet minimum standards while they wait for the results of their immigration proceedings. Trumpâs proposed family detention rule would eliminate these safeguards.
How Would it Affect Immigrant Children?
The administrationâs rule would likely direct immigration officials to detain children for even longer periods of time. Research shows that even brief periods of detention can cause long-lasting psychological trauma and mental health risks for children, including anxiety, depression, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
The rule would also lower the standards that detention facilities have to meet. As a result, children could be detained in inferior, jail-like conditions without access to adequate health care or services.
Planned Parenthood believes that children and families deserve to be safe and healthy, regardless of their immigration status. Thatâs why weâre joining our partners in the immigration rights community in opposing the administrationâs cruel proposal.
How Can I Help Oppose It?
Thereâs still time to tell Trump that the family detention rule is dangerous and inhumane. The administration is collecting input from the public about the ruleâs effects until Election Day, November 6, 2018.
We wonât sit by silently while the administration continues to strip immigrants of their basic health, rights, and freedoms. Whether itâs separating families at the border or penalizing immigrants for accessing basic needs and services through the proposed âpublic chargeâ rule, the administration has shown that it will stop at nothing to advance its racist, anti-immigrant agenda. Join us in taking action now!
