I’m on the third to last episode of Monk and it’s like the first half of the last season, the writers had senioritis and were just throwing whatever weird shit they could think of at us.
“Meat Loaf as a voodoo priest? Sure why not? It’s the last season, who cares?”
Then around the midway point they realized, holy shit it’s the last season. It’s our last chance to destroy people’s emotions and leave them a hollow wreck of what they once were.
The finale is going to actually kill me, isn’t it?
Well this week was really special. I’m going to bed and hopefully staying asleep for a decent amount of time to the dull roar of the portable ac unit.
Guess who’s not fond of the portable AC unit?
The only good thing about my AC going out is that Arthur has been lounging around with his tongue hanging out the side of his mouth like an adorable goof. Unfortunately he doesn’t want me to take a picture of him like that for some reason, because he keeps having a complete tantrum every time I point my phone at him.
Autocorrect, it is July. I live in Texas. I have no air conditioning.
I AM ALLOWED TO SAY FUCK.
My AC went out again and it is nearly 90F in my at 8 pm. For those of you who use Celsius, that is Too-Goddamn-Fucking-Hot degrees Celsius.
Wyoming is a big state, yet it is the least populous state in the Union.
Wyoming only has 3 legislators: 2 Senators and a Congressperson. It is also one of the reddest, most conservative states in the Union. All 3 seats are taken up by hardline, Trump supporting Republicans.
We have Senator John Barrasso (@SenJohnBarrasso on Twitter).
He looks alright, but he is a climate change denying homophobe that gets paid big bucks by fossil fuel companies. He’s also Chairman of the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works.
He has. NOT. ONCE.
Voted against Trump Policy
Condemned the detained and separated families
Stood up for #BlackLivesMatter
Supported Women’s reproductive rights
Legislated for pay equality
Advocated LGBTQ marriage equality, much less LGBTQ workplace and housing protections
LUCKILY,
He is up for re-election this year.
I know what you’re asking. It’s probably some variant of
Not my state, why should I care?
Wyoming’s too red, can anyone help that?
No Democrat could win that seat against an incumbent. Why bother?
Why are you asking tumblr?
I’ll tell you why!
Here’s who’s running for the Senate seat.
Please meet, Gary Trauner.
He’s somewhat moderate as far as Democrats go, but that’s probably what could win him a seat.
He’s astonishingly progressive even on gun rights!
He supports equal marriage and LGBTQ workplace and housing protections
He supports green energy alternatives
He stands up for police de-escalation training
He promotes increased spending in schools
He promises Women’s reproductive rights as well as universal pay equality.
Now here’s how you can help.
Gary Trauner (@TraunerForWY on Twitter) is only taking small donations, so he’s up against a lot of PAC money to get his message out. The bright side is that because Wyoming is small in population, every dollar ($$$) means more.
If you’re a US citizen you can donate any amount you can up to $2,700 (not entirely correct on that, but it doesn’t matter. We’re millenials and GenZers. We ain’t got that kind of money) at this link! If the link is broken, here’s the URL. (https://secure.actblue.com/donate/trauner)
You may not be able to vote for him, but any money counts to help change the Senate. #BlueWave
THANKS FOR READING!
😘💕❤💛💚💙💜🏳️🌈🏳️🌈♻️😙
PLEASE REBLOG TO CHANGE AMERICA FOR THE BETTER!
It’s worth noting, as well, that Trauner has run for the House Of Representatives (2006 & 2008) twice and has come very close both times–in 2006 he lost by just 0.5% of the vote.
Please also consider supporting Mary Throne, our Democratic candidate for governor. Public lands is a major issue in Wyoming right now, & many of our Republican candidates favor legislation to put public lands under state, rather than federal, control, with the end goal of increasing oil & gas production.
Dr. Willie Parker, who is trained as a gynecologist and OBGYN, is a hero for the pro-choice movement because he’s honest about the undiscussed aspects of getting (or not getting) an abortion. Watch how he gives a consultation.
That last statement about regret is so important, because so many people don’t understand what it is or what causes it. Anti-choicers exploit this by manipulating pregnant people and creating doubt, which only increases the likelihood of regret, no matter what decision the pregnant person makes. You know what is best for you, even if it takes some time to figure it out.
