Things have been crazy around here, as most of my followers likely know. I didn’t get to my brother’s and settled in with the cats until around 3 am. I then slept most of the day. I’m still exhausted.
The cats are doing okay so far. Nebula isn’t taking it well at all, but it could be a lot worse. She’s just stressed out mostly, and she’s responded well to my attempts to comfort her. Horatio has been oddly mellow about the whole thing, only hiding when my brother and his girlfriend came home. We haven’t introduced them to their cats though.
I do want to thank everyone who sent me kind and supportive messages. I’ve gotten so many, and I’m so grateful. It’s really helped me get through this.
I feel like the easy part is over and now I have to learn to live with other people again. I may go out tomorrow and get some air.
Love you all.
I’m watching this thing called Extraordinary Tales on Netflix, and it’s 5 Edgar Allan Poe stories animated and narrated and let me tell you, this thing is gorgeous. The stories are bookended by Edgar, who’s been reincarnated into a crow I think (The voice actor is credited as being a crow-I’m just not sure why Poe is a crow right now) chatting with Death. And each one is narrated by someone different. Fall of the House of Usher is narrated by Christopher Lee, and it was awesome.
The only criticism I have so far is that Tell Tale Heart is narrated by Bela Lugosi which is awesome, except for the fact that the narration is obviously (and I admit necessarily) taken from an old recording but they either didn’t or couldn’t get the audio cleaned up. But the animation of Tell Tale Heart is absolutely gorgeous. It’s entirely black and white except for some blood and the use of light and shadow is amazing.
Actually, I take it back. The recording in a way does sort of create an atmosphere of an inmate being recorded giving their statement on a murder they’re confessing.
Saying goodbye to Arthur was the hardest thing I have ever had to do. Leaving the apartment for the last time was rough but I tried to tell Arthur to be a good boy and I just couldn’t do it.
And now the cats are settled at my brother’s but they’re super stressed out. Horatio has been pretty chill about the whole thing, but Nebula has been losing her mind all day and now she’s taking it out on Ray and it just makes me miss Arthur more because he always breaks up their fights. And I’m so worried that now that we’re separated even after I get a new place we still won’t be what we were.
A CROW TRIED TO GO IN OUR CLASSROOM AND HE HAD A PEN
yes hello i am here to learn geometries
That crow is more prepared than some of my students.
You’ve all just like, completely skipped over the possibility that this crow has seen people using pens in this room, found one, and is trying to return it. There’s been videos of crows picking up sweet wrappers and stuff and placing them in bins after seeing humans put their litter in bins. I really do believe that this crow is trying to return the pen and that is ADORABLE AS HELL.
THEY ARE SO SMART I LOVE THEM
Crows are thought to be self aware by some scientists. Its perfectly possible the crow wants to return the pen to humans. Knowing it belongs to humans.
Corvids. Who KNOWS. 🙂
Another cool crow deal: Once, when trying to assess if crows could reason and use tools, scientists had two crows who didn’t know each other each take a wire from a table (one was hooked, one was straight) and try to grab meat from a bottle with it. The crows could see each other, though they had separate bottles. Only the straight wire worked for this, so they hypothesized that if crows could reason, the second trial would have the two crows fighting over the straight wire. The second trial started and, to the surprise of the scientists, the two crows both went for the bent wire, one held it down and the other unbent it. They both got meat out of their bottles. They came to a peaceful solution without verbal communication. Crows are probably smarter than we are.
they still shit all over the place and eat garbage
ok but so do we
corvids do this because it is due to their bodily biology and nature. we do this because we are idiots.
