You’re only given one little spark of madness. You mustn’t lose it.

I found a recipe to make homemade doggy treats. I’ve got all the ingredients. Maybe that’ll be special enough for Arthur’s Adoption Day.
Incidentally, I did a google search for adoption day ideas and the first link was an article about how insensitive adoption day parties are, and I was halfway through the article before I realized it was about adoption days for children rather than for dogs. I was so confused as to how anyone could find throwing a dog an adoption day party offensive.
The AC in my car went out today, while it was 106F/41.1C in my car. It kicked back on (you know, once I had actually gotten to my destination after driving 20 minutes in that nonsense) but this has happened before, so I think it’s going to go out completely.
The main problem I’m having now is that Saturday is Arthur’s 4th Adoption Day and I usually do something special. But because the AC in my car is on the fritz, I’m hesitant to take Arthur anywhere unless I absolutely have to. I can’t even take him to the park like I normally would, because it’s way too damn hot to do it, even at night. Also I’m broke.
Anyone have any ideas for something cheap I can do for him? Because right now it’s looking like his Adoption Day party is going to be a nail trim and a pack of heartworm preventative, which he needs but isn’t really a suitable present.
I just learned that some websites use cookies to adjust prices. That is, if you visit a certain website a lot the price will increase.
You can tell if that’s the case by checking the same web page on a different browser if you have a different number of stored cookies for that site. I checked something on Chegg and it was $14.95 on Chrome, $19.95 on Firefox, and $16.95 on Safari.
The fix? Clear your cookies for that website.
Reblog, save a wallet.
Plane tickets almost always do this!
PLANE TICKETS DO THIS ALL THE DAMN TIME
When you’re looking for plane tickets and waiting for prices to drop, ALWAYS clear your cookies beforehand and switch between browsers. A friend of mine was looking for a flight and getting prices that were the CHEAPEST at $800-1000, I sent her a link for a round trip that was like $495, and it read as $900 on her computer because she had been hounding the airline site.
alternatively: avoid all this headache by using incognito when shopping for plane tickets, text
books, etcHotel rooms are notorious for this, as well. Just like, go on incognito mode to look at these sites, saves u a lot of time & hassle.
Bruh I ain’t never know dis thank you man
“How can we take down this flag and erase the honor of those proud Americans-”
Confederates weren’t Americans. They were actual, honest-to-god Not Americans; that was the whole fucking point of the Civil War. They were a bunch of people who collectively said “fuck America” and then spent years desperately fighting in order to not be Americans anymore. Flying the Confederate flag doesn’t honor Americans, it honors Confederates, and they don’t exist anymore because they lost the war, so there is no goddamn point to this flag ever at all. Right-wing folks really love to talk about “anti-American sentiments” and “treason” until it comes to the (white) people who actually did commit treason and were anti-American in every sense of the word.
ALL OF THIS
and it was all because they wanted to keep slaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaves
Also, they didn’t fly those damned flags in the years following the Civil War, they only flew them again after the Civil Rights Act was passed. They were literally flown to protest the abolishment of Jim Crow.
There are two appropriate places for Confederate flags:
a) inside of museum displays, with accurate historical context, so that future generations don’t make the same damn mistakes
b) the trash can
I thought about the appropriateness of using them in Civil War Reenactments, but that particular flag wasn’t universally flown on the battlefield, and if you’re going to reenact historical battles as a hobby you should at least get the details right. So even that’s a maybe.
It is literally my PAID JOB to teach people this. I want to scream this from the rooftops. Bless this post forever and ever, amen.
Treason is what that flag represents, at its very most generous interpretation. Racism and slavery are its heart.
An American patriot wouldn’t be caught dead with it.
Southerners literally call it “the rebel flag” who they trying to fool
“Don’t call Trump supporters nazis, it hurts their feelings.”
Yes, this is real (link to tweet). Yes, Tucker Carlson is literally repeating Nazi propaganda that aided the genocide of the Romani during the Holocaust. Yes, I am furious.
(Also, although there is a large population of Romani in Romania, they aren’t indigenous to Romania. They’re a diasporic group originally from northern India.)
Romani and Jewish have been screaming at the top of their lungs for years about neo-fascism in Europe, and Americans were totally aloof.
Then neo-fascism reared its head in America, but Roma and Jews were left out of the conversation in terms of people being impacted, because our oppression was “over.”
Now Tucker Carlson is on live TV using slurs and Nazi propaganda about Romani people, and I’m 90% most people on the left are just going to ignore it.
FUCK. I am disgusted by this. Don’t the Romani have enough problems to deal with without this bullshit?
Wow…….guess we’re doing the Nixon Speed Run and the Hitler playbook.
