Couldn’t breathe. Totally worth it.

Arthur and I were playing fetch. I was on the bed while Nebula was laying on the chair. Typically, if Arthur brings me his tennis ball and I don’t throw it, he pitches a fit until I do.
I guess he decided to let the kitty have a turn throwing it, so he put it on the chair next to her. But being a kitty, she can’t exactly throw a tennis ball. And because she doesn’t understand fetch anyway, she thought that he gave her the tennis ball and kept it.
The ensuing tantrum was MONUMENTAL. And every time he tried to take the tennis ball back, Nebula would smack him across the face to keep him from taking it.

“He gave it to me! It’s MINE now.”
The face of a kitty who regrets absolutely nothing.
He kept crying and hollering about it though, so eventually I had to take it from her. She let me have it with a look of utter feline resignation.
We got rained on. Arthur wasn’t nearly as amused by it as I was.
The jump ring holding Arthur’s rabies tags to his collar came loose and his tags fell off so I had to take his collar off and fix it.
He was very anxious while his collar was in surgery.
Thank you, Arthur. Thank you for dragging me outside at nearly midnight while I’m barefoot in my pajamas with my hair still wet from my shower and the ground still wet from the rain just so you could meet the very overweight dog that sort of maybe cute guy (idk it was dark) was walking.
I appreciate it. Btw, did you even use the bathroom while we were out there?
I made Arthur an Adoption Day cake. It’s got peanut butter and carrots with peanut butter as frosting. He was already excited when pulled it out of the oven and he’s getting impatient waiting for it to cool completely.

Happy 4th Adoption Day my sweet baby boy!
It has been four years to the day since I brought Arthur home from the shelter. I won’t say those four years have been all bliss, but he has been the biggest and brightest of 3 wonderful lights in the darkness of those times.
I love you so much!
Draw me like one of your French cephalopods!
Everyone say hi to Nautila, my 8 foot long giant squid plushie. I made her myself. Puppy pictured for scale.
