Grayson Hall – Night of Dark Shadows

I’m just going to cry over this forever. I would have watched the fuck out of this but it wasn’t picked up for a series and now life is meaningless.
OMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMG
No I’ve never seen this before. I would have watched this too. I mean, I’ve heard some bad things about it, but of all the reboots/remakes, so far (I’m about 20 minutes in) I would want to watch this one the most. It’s not a boring nearly identical rehash of the original storyline like the Ben Cross version, nor is it a goofy failed parody like the Burton version. It’s different enough to justify it’s existence, it looks slightly insane but in an entertaining rather than insulting way, and best of all, it’s genuinely creepy in moments? David is creepy and not a poor young waif. The Collinses are terrible but likeable enough. Ok, Roger is a bit of a creep and no Louis Edmonds, but I could see him being ok. Collinwood is creepy, Barnabas is creepy, the makeup is creepy, everything is creepy. I’m even kind of digging Willie Loomis.
Also, BLAIR BROWN OMG. Also Julia is a babe?
This is literally the only reboot I would have wanted more of. Why didn’t this go anywhere?
me @ any minor inconvenience
Dark Shadows according to tumblr user @intersexmycroft. [2/2]
i shoud watch this
If I ever get around to writing a Dark Shadows/Forever Knight crossover, I am going to have Lacroix violently murder every character ever played by Roger Davies and there’s not a thing anyone can do to stop me.
Who wants to stop you? I watched Charles Delaware Tate at his most irritating last night, and the thought of Lacroix violently dismembering him fills me with glee. *eg*
I’ve stupidly started thinking about this semi-seriously, and I think instead of trying to think of some coherent reason for the crossover to exist, I’d just do a series of one-shot style vignettes of characters in both shows interacting.
And then every few chapters, La Croix shows up to kill another Roger Davies character.
I’d also like Nick to run afoul of a Trask. I wondered who could save him. I like the idea of Schanke rescuing him by accident and walking away still blissfully unaware that Nick is a vampire. Poor guy.
You could do Nick running afoul of a Trask in flashback–Nick has at least one every episode, so it would be perfectly in character! Alternatively, Nick could wander into Collinsport one fine evening and slip back through time (it seems to be a local hazard!)
Or… Nick could try curing himself using the I Ching, and winds up doing a time trip Barnabas Collins style, instead!
But I do like the idea of Lacroix popping up every once in a while just to kill a Roger Davies character!
He could probably hypnotize his way out of getting chained up inside a wall. Or he gets forced into the wall by cross-point and has to be rescued by a very condescending Lacroix.
Oh. My. God. I completely forgot of the I-Ching wands somehow. He and Natalie could have a go at them.
Natalie and Julia are talking about vampiric hypnotism, and Julia pulls out her hypno-medallion like “two can play at that game.”
Imagine Lacroix having a showdown with Nicholas Blair.
Or Professor Stokes…?
Well in Dark Shadows it was Trask who was walled up, so maybe our Nicholas could come along and release him? And then find himself in a whole heap of trouble for his good deed.
Barnabas did get himself walled up a couple times too. At least once by Trask in revenge, if I remember correctly. I do like the idea of Nicholas falling afoul of Trask in some way. Lacroix would have a hard time getting him out of that one by himself, seeing as he’s as vulnerable to crucifixes as Nicholas is.
I think I have missed a major possibility. Nick trying to arrest Barnabas for his early misdeeds.
“Seriously? Kidnapping a young woman and keeping her in your basement in hopes of brainwashing her into believing she’s your dead fiancee has nothing to do with being a vampire. Believe me.”
