I sadly haven’t figured out any good ways to deal with these things either sorry..
I haven’t had it quite as bad recently but I do get the whole vicous cycle of going to bed and getting up later and later going on too.. but so far I managed to limit it to getting up around noon, maybe 1pm at the latest.. but yeah, I totally relate to that issue.. it sucks :
just wanted to say I feel your pain, sorry I can’t be more helpful *hugs*

Thanks anyway ❤

I did a bit better today. I’m doing a couple Easy Apply type applications and I’ve gotten at least 3 boxes packed, one very large one.

jackymedan replied to your post “Does anyone else have a movie that you know is fine, you know it’s…”

which movie? I wonder if I’ve seen it/heard of it now :’)

It’s called Rigoletto, but it has nothing to do with the opera by Verdi. It’s sort of a weird mix of the Phantom of the Opera and Beauty and the Beast only it takes place during the Depression.

The film company that made it is one of those that specialize in wholesome “family friendly” movies, and out of curiosity I look them up and their entire wikipedia page is about them being repeatedly sued for making millions of telemarketing calls to numbers on Do Not Call lists (which is illegal) soliciting donations and acting like a charity then pocketing the proceeds for themselves (SUPER illegal).

Mostly it’s okay if a little bland and cheesy, but the ending is very distressing. It’s one of those movies that puts so much effort into it’s Everything Is Fine atmosphere, that it loops back around into disturbing.

I’m SO sorry all of this is happening to you 😦 you definitely are allowed to feel unhappy with all of this shit going on at the same time
*hugs real tight* I sincerely hope things will turn around for the better sooner rather than later, you’re right that we have no way of knowing they will, but I really hope they do <3

Thanks ❤

People like you on here have really been so much better at validating me and being emotionally supportive than people irl, who have been throwing possible solutions to my problems at my head, which I am grateful for, it’s just very few, if any, of them have just said “That really sucks and I’m sorry” which I need just as much, if not more.

I am really very lucky to have you all.

@theparadoxmachine anyway I don’t really feel like deleting this account I’ve had for literally half my life lol and I noticed this post is at least 3 years old, so it’s not a “new” recent thing.. I could start just putting my art in my sta.sh folder (which isn’t public and which I already use to host art I didn’t want to/couldn’t post publicly on DA, it’s kind of like tumblr’s drafts) to be safe.. idk, thanks for letting me know though 🙂

Ok good. I’m glad you’re set. Yeahhh I have to agree, as amazing as your art is, I can’t see any major retailers chomping at the bit to steal your Man from UNCLE and Due South fan art to put on t-shirts. Though, now that I’ve said that…if you did that…I….would probably buy one….

*hugs again* I’m so sorry this is happening to you <3 (btw I don’t mean to pry, and you don’t have to answer if you don’t want but why would your mom be the one to tell you you’re losing your job? are you working for her or something :?)

Oh no, it’s fine. My mom is the office admin for a small telecom company. I’m the receptionist/her assistant. I work part time there. The company isn’t doing well, and they’re starting to lay people off.

But yeah, she’s my immediate supervisor, but the CEO/owner of the company is the one letting me go. He told her and she told me.

replied to your photo “Nebula, how are you even doing this?

Please stop it.”

the flipped screen was probably her stepping on ctrl + alt and one of the arrow keys simultaneously somehow.. the muting thing idk.. how did you manage to get it back to how it was so far?

I had to right click on the screen and there’s an option to rotate the screen, and I flip it back to normal. If she can do that with the keys, that probably is how she’s managing it, since she’s been walking across the keyboard and sitting on it.

The problem with getting it back to normal is that the touchpad directions don’t change, so up makes it go to the right, left makes it go down etc. if that makes any sense. So I have to sort of mentally rearrange the screen in order to fix it.

Maybe she’s trying to tell me something. Like, “Stop watching Unsolved Mysteries, it’s scary” or “Stop scrolling and give me a snack.”

replied to your post “jackymedan ???????????????? what even is pet rent? you mean you have…”

jesus christ.. we do have like.. a fee you have to pay if you own a dog, which is more like a tax that goes to the city you live in, not your landlord, so they have funds to clean up dog poo etc.. but I don’t think it’s anywhere NEAR those amounts (otoh I’ve never rented a place anywhere an I still live with my parents who bought (not rented) this house 40 years ago so I don’t actually know much about weird pet rules/things landlords might have over here..

Wait wait wait. So where you live, if you own a dog, you pay the city, and the city cleans up after dogs? Like part of park maintenance and stuff like that? Because here, dog owners are responsible for picking up after their dogs and…it gets heated. I’ve seen people gleefully threaten to poison people’s dog because the owner didn’t pick up after it. Having the city take care of it seems like it would solve a lot of problems.
