Anakin Skywalker

The original Star Wars trilogy is what I breathe. Nothing can change the fact that Sebastian Shaw will always be Darth Vader to me. This why I’ve created a portrait of what young Anakin Skywalker would have possibly looked like, if he could have been portrayed by the original face of Darth Vader.

It is difficult to find photos of a younger Sebastian Shaw, and the 20s/30s’ film photography tends to smooth out distinctive facial features, making it even harder to get good reference pictures. However, I tried to make this portrait as realistic as I could.

Oh, this is so NEAT! I got into SW well after the PT had come out, so I never thought much about what fans must have been able to assume about young Anakin’s appearance from Vader’s unmasked face. Beyond “a blonde or brunette with blue eyes,” anyway; I never thought of seeking out images of Shaw when he was young to get a more definitive picture.
